Blue Dart Express net down 6.6% at Rs 30 cr for Sept quarter

The total income from operations of the company, however, went up to Rs 471.60 crore

Leading logistic player Blue Dart Express Ltd today reported 6.6% dip in standalone net profit at Rs 30.06 crore for the quarter ended September 30 on the back of higher expenses.
 
The company's net profit in the same period last fiscal was Rs 32.20 crore, Blue Dart Express said in a BSE filing.
 
The total income from operations of the company, however, went up to Rs 471.60 crore, over Rs 418.08 crore in the corresponding period of last financial year, it said.

The total expenses of the company went up to Rs 436.64 crore, over Rs 380.56 crore in the same period of last fiscal, it added.
 
The higher expenses related to freight, handling and servicing costs (net) during the quarter was Rs 320.01 crore, over Rs 276.49 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY'13, it added.
 
"In tough times like these when the industry is grappling to cope with the current economic scenario and the slow GDP growth, we have worked as one team with determination to overcome the challenges and have kept up to our commitment to service excellence," company's Managing Director Anil Khanna said.
 
Shares of the company closed at Rs 2,801.00 apiece on BSE, down 0.90% from the previous close.
