Durgesh Mehta, joint managing director of textile to realty company Bombay Dyeing, has quit the company after serving in that post for almost four years.

Mehta was due to retire in April 2015.

The reasons for his resignation are not known. The company said Mehta has resigned with effect from February 15. Last week, the company announced that Keshub Mahindra has stepped own after 45 as a director of the company. 
 
Mehta became joint MD and chief financial officer of the company in April 2010. prior to that he was CFO of Wadia-owned Britannia Industries. Mehta, a qualified chartered accountant, worked with Unilver, Sify, Hindustan Unilever in the past.
 
In April 2011, Jeh Wadia, younger son of industrialist Nusli Wadia was appointed as managing director of the company and elder son Ness stepped down as Joint MD of the company but remained as a director on the board. Mehta continued as JMD of the company.
 
The company's stock ended the day at Rs 51.40, about 0.60 per cent higher than previous close.
