Bosch, on Wednesday announced its foray into thermo-technology. Globally, Bosch has been supplying water heating and comfort heating systems in the thermo-technology space.

In India, the Bosch thermo-technology division will be part of Bosch Limited (the flagship and listed company of the Bosch group in India) and will be headquartered in Bangalore.

Bosch Thermo-technology worldwide offers a variety of products ranging from instantaneous water heaters to steam generators. In India, initially this entity will offer commercial, industrial, power boilers and solar water heaters for multiple segments- residential, commercial, industrial and institutional.

The division will cover the entire state of Maharashtra, Karnataka and the National Capital Region with almost 30-40 agents initially. Vidyasagar Halingali, Country Head-Sales Thermo-technology-SAARC, Bosch Limited, said, “We see a good potential in India on account of favourable weather conditions, namely 300 days of solar energy in a year and a friendly regulatory environment that makes it mandatory for installation of water heaters on any new residential construction.”

With over three decades of global expertise in the area this foray will allow Bosch to bring into India optimum design solutions in thermo-technology.

While designing its systems, close attention is paid to combining efficient use of natural resources, system flexibility and user friendliness.

The company aims to capture 10 per cent market share in India by 2015.
