Indian arm of German automotive components major Bosch on Monday unveiled a range of connected and smart solutions for diverse industrial sectors to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

"Our smart solutions can help Indian factories increase productivity and improve operational efficiency of the mining sector," said Bosch Ltd Managing Director Steffen Berns here at a preview of its new products and services.

Going beyond its mobility domain, the city-based company has also rolled out power tools for the construction, metal and wood working industry and connected solutions for the agriculture sector.

"We are leveraging our combined strengths to offer integrated solutions to meet the demands of customers looking for suppliers who can offer end-to-end solutions across the key growth sectors," Berns told reporters here at an event.

The Indian subsidiary's business divisions comprising industrial technology, consumer goods and energy and building technology contributed 15 per cent to its turnover of Rs 10,415 crore in 2015.

"In a connected world, we are well positioned to offer affordable solutions by harnessing our expertise across hardware, software and services," asserted Berns, showcasing the solutions at the company's main factory here.

With the largest engineering centre outside Germany, Bosch India also offers connected solutions and services for smart cities, home appliances, smart manufacturing, packaging, construction, transportation, mining, energy and agriculture.

In the smart city segment, the company is doing a pilot project in this tech hub, providing intelligent parking system to enable commuters find parking space for their cars in crowded areas through sensors.

"Our smart solution also allows drivers to search, book and pay via mobile for a parking space," Berns pointed out.

The company also offers intelligent traffic management systems and citizen safety and security and intelligent transport system to the stakeholders.

With the government positioning India as a global manufacturing hub, the company offers a range of drives, automation, sensors, software and services like predictive maintenance for smart manufacturing by the automotive industry, tier-one component suppliers, healthcare and pharmaceutical.

In the mining sector, the company plans to tie up with local system integrators for retrofit projects to offer end-to-end solutions.

"We are also developing solutions to minimise downtime and lower life cycle cost for the user. Using our Internet of Things platform and expertise, we have developed a smart solution to increase automation in the mining industry and improve its operational efficiency and enhance productivity," added Berns.
