Sources said, parties like the Forward Bloc were opposing the large scale premiere that Sahara One Motion Pictures had planned for the film.

Sahara One was therefore re-examining the issue and a decision would be taken in a few days.

Sahara One had selected Kolkata's Eastern Command Stadium (ECS) as the venue for the premiere to accommodate a crowd large enough to make it to the Guinness Book of World Records.

Despite starting work at the stadium, Sahara One could be forced to call off the premiere.

"We got clearance from the central government for the premiere at ECS but some socio-political groups were not convinced with the idea of having such a large scale premiere" said the source.

Sahara One was now toying with two options""to hold the premiere in some other city or have a low-key premiere for the film.

A formal announcement is expected shortly as a large scale premiere would require a lot of time to plan out.

Sahara One had selected ESC as it could hold 30,000 people and gain an entry into the Guinness World Records for the largest film premiere ever.

That honour is held today by Brewster McLeod, which opened in Houston in 1970 with 23, 930 people.

Sahara had appointed Ernst & Young, to audit the process, in accordance with the rules set forth by the Guinness World Records.

The premier would have brought some of the biggest names from the film industry to Kolkata, given that Sahara has a number of them on its board.

The decision to have the premier in Kolkata was largely due to Netaji's connections with the city.

To bring in the crowd, Sahara had approached the Union information and broadcasting ministry for a tax free certificate and was also lobbying for the education tag, which would enable it to draw upon the school crowd. The total cost of producing the film had run into Rs 35 crore.

Sahara had planned to invite INA members for the premier and to hold special screenings for INA members and their families in Delhi.
