Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL), the second largest public sector enterprise engaged in refining, storage and marketing of petroleum products, has put into service 'non-space pumps' in Mysore.

'Non-space pumps', provided at state-of-the-art retail outlet at JLB Road by BPCL, is the first of its kind in the districts of Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagar. The dispensing pumps are imported from Japan.

As the name suggests, one cannot find any pump virtually on the pedestal at the forecourt, but the nozzle is found hanging from the roof. The flow per nozzle is 40 lmp and allows five presetting in rupees and in litres.

The time taken for the customer to enter the retail outlet, fuel and exit is only three minutes, says BPCL assistant manager P P Raghavendra Rao.

The totaliser is housed in a box and is fixed on one side of the outlet, away from the forecourt and the display is fixed at a strategic position for easy visibility to the public.

The nozzle is hanging from the canopy roof and is adjustable as per the customer requirements.
