Breguet, the watch brand from Swatch Group, is looking at a 50 per cent sales growth in India for the current calendar year.
Christophe Viguerie, VP - Breguet, India and Thailand, said, “We started aggressive marketing in India since 2007 and already India features among our top 10 countries in terms of sales. The biggest countries for Breguet are HongKong, Switzerland, US, France and Japan, among others.”
Breguet is aiming to open an exclusive boutique for its watches in India soon. Currently, the company has appointed six retailers in India, including Kolkata, to sell its products.
“We are looking to open exclusive outlets in India as well as appoint retailers in Hyderabad and Ahmedabad soon,” Viguerie said. Breguet watches in India command a price range of Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 2.5 crore.
“The average price of Breguet watches is Rs 20 lakh,” said Viguerie, claiming, “We have not seen any dip in sales for our watches during recession.”
Viguerie said the company did not disclose sales figures. Swatch now owns close to 18 watch brands, including high-end names such as Breguet, whose most expensive watches sell for more than $500,000.
