Brighton Equipment Corporation, which has manufacturing facilities in US and China, is keen on setting up a large factory in the state to manufacture forged steel components used in third generation nuclear power plants.
A delegation from the company met Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) vice-chairman and managing director BR Meena in this regard on Wednesday.
The proposed factory will have four separate facilities for melting, forging, machining and welding, and assembly. The unit requires about 800 acre and envisages an investment of ' 2,700 crore.
It would need a vendor presence in its vicinity and therefore a Vendor Park would be set up. The unit, together with ancillary companies, can generate employment for 1,00,000 persons.
APIIC proposed a few sites on the coastline of the state for the project, an official release said.
