BSE Institute launches PG programme in business journalism

The course will include key topics on finance, economics and financial markets to provide students with the domain knowledge along with journalism related topics

BSE Institute, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today announced the launch of a post graduate program in business journalism. The one year full time autonomous program will commence in the last week of August, this year.

"The financial crisis that have rocked the world,  over the last few years have highlighted the need for skilled business journalists who can understand the increasingly complex world of business & finance and interpret in a manner that makes it easy for the average person on the street take informed decisions. With this in mind we have launched this specialised Post Graduate Program in Business Journalism," said Ambarish Datta, MD & CEO, BSE Institute.

The course will include key topics on finance, economics and financial markets to provide students with the base domain knowledge along with the journalism related topics. It will emphasise on introduction to business and financial reporting, exploring corporate stories, industry news, national and local economic trends, and financial markets.

The key highlights of this program include an opportunity to cover live events, work on broadcast capsules in a live studio, mentoring from senior business journalists, international visits and training to use technology tools. Placement assistance will be provided to all students under the course program with BSE Institute after they successfully complete the program. Moneycontrol.com, Newswire18 and Zee Business are the collaborative partners for the course.
