Commemorating the seventh anniversary of BSNL, the telecom service provider launched a slew of offers on Monday. |
The idea is to add one lakh post paid customers during the festive season, from 1.8 lakh post paid connections right now. |
It introduced a lifetime number retention scheme for citizens above 60 years of age. |
Under this scheme, a subscriber above 60 years of age would be able to retain a phone number for life. |
BSNL also launched bundled offer which it claims will be able to bring down any family's overall telecom expenses by 30 per cent. |
This bundled offer combines internet usage, mobile and landline usage. Under this scheme, the subscriber would not have to pay monthly fixed charges and instead could pay Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 for all, depending on usage. |
BSNL also introduced universal personal number (UPN). A subscriber to this service could receive or make calls using his/her UPN from any BSNL phone. |
The subscriber would be given management codes and password, like 1868-345-ABCD, against a monthly rental of Rs 25. |
The service could also be availed for free if a fixed line customer's monthly bill is Rs 1000 or more. |
Under UPN, subscribers can call other BSNL mobiles at Re 1 per minute. |
It also offers other value-added services like call barring and call control so that a subscriber could receive calls according to his/her choice. |
