Public sector telecom major Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) will conduct Online Examination for recruitment of Junior Engineer (JE). The Government of India enterprise hopes to fill up about 2,700 vacancies in various BSNL circles on temporary or permanent basis.
Open to eligible diploma or graduate engineers and Indian nationals, the online exam is scheduled for September 28, 2016. The online registration has already begun from July 10, 2016 and registration will close on August 10, 2016.
Eligibility criteria
Announced through advertisement in newspapers, BSNL recruitment 2016 notification invites candidates between 18 years to 30 years as on August 10, 2016. Age relaxation will be applicable as per government rules.
Candidates should have completed three years engineering diploma/ B.Tech/ B.E in Telecommunications Engineering or Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Radio Engineering or Computer Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering or Information Technology from a Central Government or State Government recognized Institution, or B.Sc. Electronics or B.Sc. Computer Science from a recognized university, or Post Graduate, i.e., M.Sc. Electronics from a Central Government or State Government recognized Institution.
Selection process
BSNL will be selecting candidates through an All India Online Competitive Examination. The exam may be conducted in multiple session depending up on the number of candidates.
The online test comprises a single paper consisting of objective-type, multiple-choice questions. The examination duration will be three hours, ideally from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Candidates need to keep in mind that there will be negative marking. The paper will be divided into three parts:

How to apply:
1.Log on to BSNL external exam online portal externalexam.bsnl.co.in
2.Check the appropriate link in the JE recruitment column to read the instructions carefully
3.Click on the Apply Now tab
4.Register on the website
5.After completing registration process, fill the form
6.Check thoroughly before clicking submit
7.Upload the scanned copies of recent passport size photograph and signature in format requested
8.Make fee payment using online form
9.Take a printout of the application form for future reference
Interested candidates need to pay Rs 1,000 as exam registration fee. The fee for SC/ST candidates is Rs 500. Payment can only be made online, i.e. through Internet banking, credit card and debit card.
Pay scale and vacancies
According to the notification, the pay scale of the appointed JE’s will be in accordance to the Non-Executive-9 (NE-9) category of BSNL, i.e. Rs 13,600 to Rs 25,420 per month with annual increment at 3 percent rate of basic pay, plus IDA, HRA, perks and medical benefits admissible as per BSNL company rules
