Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) of the Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has plunged into severe water crisis that could hit the production if the situation remained the same for a couple of days.
“Never in the history of BSP had the water level in the reservoir depleted so low,” company’s spokesperson Subir Daripa told Business Standard. While the company manages water stock for 70 days, it is now left with just two days to cater to the demand, he added. The state water department said that it had released 200 cusec water from the Gangrel dam from where water is supplied to BSP.
