"India has a very stronghold in IT services. We are looking at acquiring companies having IT capabilities to strengthen our Asia Pacific operations," British Telecom Asia Pacific President Allen Ma said.
The company which has set an ambitious target of garnering two billion Euro (115 per cent increase from the current level) revenues from the Asia Pacific region is open to both organic and inorganic growth in the country. However, the focus would be more on acquisitions, he said.
"Acquiring companies will not only help us to expand our footprint here, but will also help us to get access to new clients and processes," he added.
However, he declined to comment on the size and scale of the deals.
The company had recently, acquired Singapore IT company Frontline Technologies and Mumbai-based enterprise services company i2i Enterprise to ramp up their presence in the APAC region.
"While the acquisition of Frontline has given us expanded IT services capability of 5,000 employees across the region, including major presence in India and China, the acquisition of i2i represented excellent platform for growth in India," Ma said.
