Bulbul Apps, a Hyderabad-based startup that develops apps for pre-schoolers, has entered into a partnership with UK-based Knowledgemotion’s bo (boclips.com) to deliver cleanly-categorised and contextualised kid-friendly educational video and app content to children below eight years.
This agreement gives bo access to a bank of 55 free and premium collection of new child worthy educational Bulbul Apps’ library and add up to its list of curated video clips spanning all key stages, subjects and topics in the curriculum, Bulbul Apps said in a statement on Wednesday.
With this, Bulbul Apps joins bo’s list of international content owners including Getty Images, Bloomberg, BBC Worldwide Learning, Associated Press Television News, SNTV, Global ImageWorks and British Movietone, that give bo access to up to two million video clips, it added.
Founded in 2015 by film maker and artist Prakash Dantuluri, Bulbul Apps had raised funds from crowd-funding site Kickstarter to promote its 'Tuk Tuk goes to Hyderabad' travel app for kids early this month.
"Knowledgemotion’s platform offers scale, enormous choice for Bulbul Apps multimedia content that is parent-child and teacher-student apt that translate passive viewing to active learning. Being there is perfect for us. Jointly with bo we will enable access to high quality material which is currently either unavailable or difficult to find, share and use at home in a consumer-friendly language,” said Dantuluri, founder and chief executive officer of Bulbul Apps.
