Buoyed by the growth of tier II cities in India, Bureau Veritas India Limited (BVIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of international quality certification agency Bureau Veritas, plans to open its branches in all the tier II industrial towns across the country.

On the sidelines of inaugurating its branch office in Coimbatore, Richard Kazsuba, regional chief executive officer, said: "In order to tap the growing business opportunities in these towns and help the units in the region get easy financial aid through certification, BVIL plans to establish its presence across the nation."

Without disclosing the investment details, he said BVIL would set up its branches in Pondicherry, Tuticorin and Madurai in a year's time. The ground work in these cities was in progress, he added.

BVIL has more than 200 customers in the region. "Although we provide certification services in the Coimbatore region (comprising Coimbatore, Erode, Tirupur, Karur and Nilgiris) to nearly 50 types of industries - from textiles, to knitwear and garments, our mainstay has been Coimbatore's textile and engineering industry," Naresh Gupta, director, BVIL, added.

BVIL provides diversified solutions for the small and medium-sized firms, large international groups and government bodies. It has its presence in marine, construction, energy, transport, offshore construction plans and services.
