The Business Standard National Infrastructure Summit is being held in the national capital on Thursday, with Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as chief guests.
Among key participants are top industry executives from the power, oil & gas and infrastructure sectors, such as NTPC Chairman & Managing Director Arup Roy Chowdhury, Jindal Steel & Power Chief Executive Ravi Uppal, and GMR Energy Ltd President (strategy & development) Aniruddha Ganguly.
Rathin Basu, country president of Alstom India and South Asia, High Speed Rail Corporation of India Chairman Satish Chandra Agnihotri, and India Infrastructure Finance Company Chairman Santosh B Nayar are representing the infrastructure sector. Balancing the act is Vinayak Chatterjee, chairman of Feedback Infrastructure, a leading infra research & consultancy organisation.
At a time when the central government is keen on infrastructure development, the panel is discussing the way forward for pushing power availability and fuel security for industry, among other things. On the core agenda for the meet are the issues affecting India’s infra development, the likely solutions and the next generation of reforms.
With key representatives of the government and industry sharing a common platform to discuss the road map for development, a constructive debate over the infra sector’s needs and the government’s policies is on.
