Byju's strengthens tech leadership; hires ex-Amazon and former Adobe execs

With two new appointments, the firm will further enhance its learning products, solutions, and experiences to help students take to learning more easily

Byju’s, the world’s leading edtech company, has announced the appointment of Mani Bansal and Maneesh Agrawal to lead key technology functions in an effort towards strengthening its tech vertical and further drive innovative and impactful learning experiences.

While Bansal will take on the role of vice-president, engineering, Agrawal joins as vice-president, reliability, security and cloud engineering. Both leaders will work on a group level towards catalyzing critical technologies to augment Byju’s tech prowess and define the future of learning.

Byju’s has been investing in the powerful synergy of technology and innovation by scaling its robust tech team. With these new appointments, Byju’s will further enhance its learning products, solutions, and experiences to help students take to learning more easily.

Mani Bansal will lead the Content Engineering platform across the group, along with working closely with the Byju’s Lab team to build AI and ML capabilities to set the benchmark for the future of personalised learning. A tech leader with more than two decades of rich experience, Bansal has been leading cross-functional engineering teams to deliver world-class products for millions of customers globally. With a rich career spanning over 20 years, the Hyderabad-based Bansal is an Amazon veteran, having donned multiple global technology leadership roles in Amazon Prime and Amazon Logistics.

Maneesh Agrawal, with over 22 years of experience, championed strategic thinking across design, implementation and operational excellence. He will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s reliability engineering, security and cloud engineering. Formerly with Adobe, Olacabs, InMobi, Yahoo and Indiamart, he had delivered strategic vision across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and Cloud efficiency. With Data Security at the core of Byju’s, Agrawal’s appointment will further accelerate the company’s investment in this area.
