As per the MoU, C-DAC will first study and understand the existing level of computerisation in the state departments.

Based on feedback, it will then proceed to execute technology solutions for the implementation of the e-governance programme.

The state government's initiative is expected to accelerate the growth of information technology (IT) industries and the government's e-governance programme.

The state government already has a comprehensive policy which lays out various initiatives proposed to be taken up for IT education, e-governance and promotion of the information technology and infotainment industry.

The policy focuses on the promotion of information technology with the aim of building an intelligent island state.

C-DAC has already completed several projects in the field of e-governance and has developed and implemented solutions for different states such as Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka in the past.
