Product engineering and enterprise solutions company Calsoft, a 100-per cent subsidiary of the US -based Calsoftlabs, today announced its entry into the digital home market.
Under the new venture, the company would offer services, including browser porting, multimedia application development for digital home devices such as set-top box, IPTV and networked media, the Chennai-headquartered firm today said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The company said it would target services towards software platforms based on Linux, Windows and Android.
The digital home technology, in which all devices in the home are connected to one another, promises to change the way things work in every household.
"Calsoftlabs's combined expertise in embedded, networking and multimedia technology provides a very attractive value proposition to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) developing digital home devices", Calsoft Vice-President Anand Joshi said.
Calsoft, currently has presence in 12 global locations, the release added.
