Cancer institute gets tech push

, Naveen Kulkarni, director, Polyclone Biociences said the institute, located at Hubli has good access to cancer patients (head and neck) and are finding it hard to further their research.
 
"Polyclone plans to upgrade institute's research information systems to enable clinical trials and research on large population," he added.
 
Earlier, addressing a press meet, M K Shankaralinge Gowda, secretary department of IT and biotech said after the bio-meet, state has emerged as an ideal destination for research process outsourcing.
 
In the next edition of Bangalore Bio 2006 scheduled to be held during April 27-29, 2006, state plans to showcase state's RPO potential for employment generation, he added.
 
The bio event which came to a close on Sunday witnessed the participation of 15 countries, nine states, 800 delegates and 110 exhibitors.
 
International delegates were increased by 15-20 per cent. Fifteen countries such as Western Australia, France, state of Pennsylvania, Japan, Singapore, Korea, Italy, UK and Germany displayed their products and services in 23 stalls.
 
UK and Germany were the most active foreign delegations and hosted two half day B2B sessions on bio investment, outsourcing and bio partnerships.
