Sebastian & Sons India Pvt Ltd (SSPL), importers and distributors of in-car entertainment products and related accessories, is planning to have a strong multi-brand distribution network in the northern region. |
The network is targeted at providing in-car entertainment technologies from a host of global brands. It is also planning a 130-strong dealer network and four distribution centres in north India in the next couple of years. |

The company aims to have its presence in all the A, B, C category cities in the north Indian states by the end of fiscal 2009-10. Michael Khare, CEO, SSPL said the company would also be opening multibrand showrooms for exhibition of its imported products in the major cities in north India. |

He said the showrooms would display the company's products and would also provide customers free advisory services on what accessories should be used, based on their preferences. |

Khare said the company planned to open an in-car entertainment installation, design and fabrication institute in north India in partnership with a global institute after it opens its first such institute in Kerala later this year. |

The institute will offer India's vast pool of installers and car audio service engineers an organised training program through globally-recognised training modules developed by industry experts. |

However, the location has not yet been finalised. |

SSPL, which has its headquarters in Bangalore, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gulf Wireless and Television Company based in Dubai. It offers a wide portfolio of products ranging from entry-level speakers and amplifiers to quality accessories and high-end in-car entertainment systems. |

The company is planning to achieve a ten-fold growth in its turnover to Rs 50 crore by the end of fiscal 2009-10, from its current turnover of Rs 5 crore. It expects about two-third of its revenue to come from the northern region. |

Talking to Business Standard, Khare said, "Gulf Wireless and Television has considerable experience and expertise in building an effective in-car entertainment solutions network in the competitive West Asia market. We will leverage this expertise in creating India's first distribution network of comprehensive car entertainment products. |

"As brand representatives to a host of international car entertainment product manufacturers in India, SSPL is committed to make large investments in sales, services and marketing programmes to extend the best car entertainment experience to the Indian consumer." |

Khare said the company was charting a rapid expansion plan and aimed to move car audio and video distribution, sales, installation and service across India into a professionally managed system. |

"We will be having a strong dealership network of 300, out of which 130 will be in the northern states. Currently, we have about 135 dealers, mostly present in the southern markets. We are the brand representatives to a host of international car entertainment product manufacturers in India like Ultimate from Canada, JL Audio from the US, Boston Accoustics and Tsunami Cables from the US. In Ultimate, we have T1, T2 & T3 series and FX 4 and FX 93 from Boston Accoustics that are most popular in the Indian market currently," he said. |
