Domestic passenger car sales increased 46.47% to 92,594 units in February 2007 when compared with 63,213 units in February 2006, according to data released by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) today.Market leader Maruti Udyog continued to be the front runner clocking a growth of 57% with sales of 50,666 units in February 2007 as against 32,259 units in the corresponding period last year.Tata Motors was the second with sales of 16,016 units as against 14,200 units, while Hyundai Motor India registered sales of 15,432 units as against 8,780 units in the same month last year.Motorcycle sales increased 5% during the month under review to 5,16,410 units as against 4,92,116 units in the same month last year.The slow growth was mainly on account of the nearly 7% drop in sales of Bajaj Auto to 1,46,642 units from 1,57,386 units in February 2006.Hero Honda sales increased 11% to 2,67,856 units from 2,41,232 units in the same month last year.
