Lubricant maker Castrol India today posted over 60 per cent increase in net profit for the third quarter ended September 30, to Rs 95.6 crore over the same period a year earlier.
Total income of the company rose to Rs 566.7 crore in the latest quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 558.1 crore of year-ago period, Castrol India said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
During the July-September quarter, Castrol India's expenditure on advertisement rose by 86 per cent to Rs 40 crore, compared to Rs 21.5 crore in the same quarter in FY'09.
For the nine-month period ended September 30, the company posted a net profit of Rs 300.3 crore, up 39 per cent from Rs 215.3 crore in the year-ago period.
Shares of Castrol India were trading at Rs 563.60, down 2.03 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
