Ceat posts Rs 41 cr standalone net profit in Q4

Tyre maker Ceat today reported a standalone net profit of Rs 41.47 crore during the fourth quarter ended March 31.

The company had posted a net loss of Rs 11.84 crore in the corresponding period last year.

The standalone total income from operations during the fourth quarter of last fiscal increased by 22.51% to Rs 1,222.21 crore from Rs 997.65 crore in the year-ago period, Ceat said in a filing to the BSE.

The company's board of directors recommended a dividend of Re 1 per equity share of face value of Rs 10 each.

For the entire 2011-12 financial year, Ceat saw its consolidated net profit falling 31.52% to Rs 18.12 crore from Rs 26.46 crore in the previous fiscal, the filing said.

The consolidated total income from operations in 2011-12 went up by 28.03% to Rs 4,648.99 crore from Rs 3,631.12 crore in FY'11, it added.

Reacting to the numbers, the shares of Ceat were 1.68% up at Rs 105.80 apiece on the BSE.
