Celebrity Fashions net dips 15%

Textile company Celebrity Fashions reported 15 per cent dip in sequential net profits to Rs 1.9 crore for the quarter ended March 2006, compared with Rs 2.26 crore in the quarter ended December 2005.

The company, which was listed in January, saw its net sales going up by 28.31 per cent at Rs 40.92 crore from Rs 31.89 crore over the same period. Total income was up by almost 30 per cent to Rs 41.73 crore for the quarter, as from Rs 32.23 crore in the last quarter.

The company's operating profit was down 24 per cent to Rs 4.89 crore from Rs 6.5 crore and gross profit also dipped by almost 24 per cent to Rs 3.5 crore from Rs 4.61 crore over the same period.
