While greenfield expansions are set to contribute 40 million tonne, debottlenecking and increase in blending ratios would add another 10 million tonne, taking the total capacity of the industry to around 180 million tonne by 2008.
The survey has also slated about 23 million tonne of cement capacities, about 16 per cent of the existing capacity, for consolidation through mergers and acquisitions till the year 2008.
