Central Gujarat industries have outperformed their peers from Saurastra and Southern Gujarat in terms of moving up in the business process value chain.
According to a soon-to-be-announced CII-Deloitte study on how industries in Gujarat have leveraged upon the economic downturn, industries in Saurashtra and Southern Gujarat region talked of implementing business ethics and corporate governance, while industries from Vadodara and surrounding region were mostly fine tuned their implementations and moved higher in value chains.
The study will be unveiled during Business Leadership Summit to be held in Ahmedabad on 24 July 2009. Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Deloitte undertook an intensive workshop with a score of fast growing enterprises in Vadodara and industrial district of Vitthal Udyognagar to understand the growth priorities and strategies of industries in these regions during the time of economic slowdown.
