Kadi-based Cera Sanitaryware Limited, a sanitaryware company, has decided to increase its production capacity by 35 per cent at an investment of Rs 35 crore. The current production capacity of the sanitaryware is 2 million pieces, which will be raised to 2.7 million pieces per annum, according to PK Shashidharan, general manager, marketing, Cera Sanitaryware.
The company is also planning to launch an array of bathroom products and will expand its export base to African and European countries. "We are launching water-saving products as per the green norms with newer designs and innovations. These will include geysers, mirrors, cabinets, special bathroom LCD television, to name a few. We are also tying up with OE manufacturers in Far East countries and expanding our export base to countries in Europe and Africa," Shashidharan said.
The company has already commenced construction work for a new plant for faucets near its sanitaryware plant in Kadi. The faucet plant is nearing completion and is expected to commence production from August 2010, according to Shashidharan.
Cera enjoys a share of 20 per cent in the organised sanitaryware market. "The company has seen growth just below 30 per cent this fiscal and the turnover is expected to be Rs 200 crore at the end of this fiscal as compared to Rs 171 crore last year," Shashidharan said.
