The city-based Cera Sanitaryware Ltd aims at becoming a complete bathroom solutions provider in the current financial year.

The company has recently launched its Senator Collection, a premium range of bathroom products, consisting of sanitaryware, shower cubicles and shower panels.

Cera had launched bath tubs a few months back as part of becoming a complete bathroom equipment company from a sanitaryware manufacturer.

"We are planning to launch several other bathroom products. It will complete the transformation from a sanitaryware manufacturer to a complete bathroom products company," said S C Kothari, chief executive officer, Cera Sanitaryware Ltd.

"The company is planning to change its name to Cera Bathroom Ltd from Cera Sanitaryware Ltd. The Senator Collection is a combination of imported and indigenously designed products. The imported products are made exclusively for Cera and are conducive for Indian conditions," said Kothari.

Cera had posted a growth of over 11 per cent in the financial year 2002-03 and grown by another 23 per cent in the financial year 2003-04.

The turnover of the company grew from Rs 45.86 crore in 2002-03 to Rs 56.57 crore in 2003-04. With the launch of the premium range, the company expects a growth of another 30 per cent in the financial year 2004-05.

The company said it was the first Indian sanitaryware plant to use natural gas for its kilns.

The use of German technology ensured Cera's technological superiority over others in uncompromising quality, the company said.

The company plant was established with an initial capacity of 3,500 metric tonnes per year. The plant underwent several periodical upgradations and modernisation to reach a capacity of 15,000 metric tonnes per annum.

"To keep ahead of competition, Cera has always kept its technology ahead of the rest of the players in India. We took help from ceramic technology suppliers from several countries in Europe so that the company's process and products conform to international norms," Kothari said.
