Chambal Fertilisers Q4 net profit up 37.5%

Dividend of Rs 1.90 per equity share recommended

Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals today reported a 37.5% increase in its standalone net profit to Rs 93.18 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 67.72 crore in the year-ago period, it said in a filing to the BSE.

The net sales of the company rose to Rs 1,882.83 crore in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal from Rs 807.15 crore in the same quarter of the 2010-11 fiscal.

In the 2011-12 financial year, the company posted a net profit (standalone) of Rs 247.28 crore compared to Rs 325.17 crore for the previous fiscal.

The net sales of the company rose to Rs 6,455.12 crore from Rs 4,647.42 crore in the period under review.

The company's Board of Directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 1.90 per equity share of Rs 10 each.

Apart from fertilisers, the company is also into agri-inputs, shipping textiles, software and infrastructure.

Shares of the Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals yesterday declined by 0.14% to settle at
Rs 69.20 apiece on the BSE.
