To ease the burden of rising fuel cost, IIT Guwahati alumnus Raghu Khanna from Chandigarh is set to launch country’s first and only On-Vehicle advertising company namely Cashur Drive.

All one needs to do is to register on www.cashurdrive.com, and car owners will be paid for carrying advertisements on their cars and advertisers will be able to take advantage of this new and unexplored medium of advertisement.

The company will initially launch its services in Chandigarh in the first week of September this year and later on in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan etc. In the next phase, it is also planning to launch it in other parts of the country.

In an interaction with Business Standard, Cashurdrive CEO Raghu Khanna said, “CashurDrive aims to ease the burden of rising fuel cost and soaring inflation. After a car owner register with us at www.cashurdrive.com, he can earn just by driving his car — no change in mileage and no additional driving. While car owners will be paid for putting advertisements on their cars, advertisers will be able to take the advantage of this new and unexplored medium of advertisement. The motto of our company is: ‘Get Seen, Get Paid!’ CashurDrive will work closely with advertisers to select the best car owners from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Chandigarh.”

He added that already 10,000 cars have been registered with the company, out of the total 3,500 are from the tricity area of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali.

“Initially the services would be launched in Chandigarh in the first week of September followed by Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Himachal. Also, we are planning to launch similar kind of services in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Delhi. Further we are doing a market survey for Bangalore and Chennai,” he added.

The vehicles will be fitted with Vehicle tracking system (VTS) and Near field communication (NFC) system.

He added, “The thing that makes mobile advertising idea work is the satellite tracking or Global Positioning System (GPS), which measures the accountability for clients. The system is installed in the cars at the same time they are wrapped which helps to monitor the ‘wheelboard’ making sure that the brand is not in any wear or tear form and is forming an impression on the customer’s mind as it is suppose to do.”

The company is being conceptualised by Raghu Khanna, an IIT Guwahati alumnus with investments and financial structuring provided by Gautam Seengal, managing partner, VC Hunt Global.

CashurDrive Managing Director Gautam Seengal feels the time spent on traditional media and manner to consumer connect is on the decline. Secondly, the only thing that’s growing at 47 per cent today in India is vehicles.

Advertiser can run special offers or ads in the specific region at any time. Outdoor advertising in India is an extremely fragmented and disorganised business.

There are no official figures available, though out-of-home media — comprising billboards, mounted vans and airport — is estimated to be a Rs 2,000 crore ($509 billion) industry, and expected to more than double it to Rs 5,000 crore in the next three years.

Cashurdrive Group will soon launch Online Viral campaigns, Social Networking Deployments and cellphone call back brand campaigns.
