Chauhan opens LiuGong India unit at Pithampur

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries Arun Yadav today inaugurated a newly constructed manufacturing unit of LiuGong India (LIPL) at Pithampur near here.

LIPL, dealing with the production of heavy earth moving machines and construction equipments, among other things, is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Guangxi Liu Gong Machinery Company (GLGMCL) of China.

GLGMCL Chairman Wang Xiaohua among other top officials of the company were present at the inaugural function.

LIPL has set up its unit in an area of 44 acres with an initial investment of Rs 175 crore at Pithampur and plans to manufacture 2000 units per year, sources close to the company management, said.

LIPL has invested in Indore, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Madhya Pradesh Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation.

LIPL is the first Chinese company to invest in Madhya Pradesh.
