China to participate in Stonemart '07 in Jaipur

A four-day long fourth India Stonemart 2007, a super market of stones and stone products, would be held in Jaipur from February 1-4. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated the fair today.

The Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS), is organising the fair with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) as the co-organiser.

Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO) is the principal sponsor of the event and Floriana Group SVIL Mines are the fair sponsors.

Narpat Singh Rajvi, industries minister, Rajasthan said India Stonemart was the perfect platform to showcase the state's technology and industry.

He said India Stonemart also gave a boost to stone exports from Rajasthan.

As a result of the previous three stone fairs the stone exports from the state have seen a quantum jump and are now worth Rs 900 crore.
