Choice Hospitality India Private Ltd, the master franchisee of Choice Hotels International, is keen to expand its business in Uttar Pradesh. |
The group, which currently has three hotels in the state and Uttarakhand, has plans to set up more hotels and is looking for a suitable party. |

Talking to Business Standard, Chief Executive Officer, Choice Hospitality India, Vilas Pawar said, "We are keen on having more hotels in the state and are in a dialogue with the interested parties in Agra and Allahabad. We hope to start the work soon at these locations." |

The company was established in 1987 with the objective of setting up first class and mid-market franchised and managed hotels in India. The group currently operates over 25 hotels at key locations in India. |

"Choice Hospitality provides a range of services, and with better management and operation and improved professional standards of the staff, it aims building up the profits," said Pawar. |

The four international brands of Choice are Clarion, Quality, Comfort and Sleep, with a room tariff ranging from Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000 per night. These brands cover every location, price and market segment ranging from full service upscale hotels to limited service mid-scale hotels. |

"At present, we have Comfort Inn in Lucknow and a quality jungle resort at Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand. We opened another comfort inn at Haldwani few months back and want to make our peresence felt in across the entire country," said Pawar. |

The company also tied up with Royal Indian Raj International Corporation (RIJIC) to set up 15,000 rooms in about 100 hotels in India. The hotels would be constructed in the next 5-7 years in the 2-4 star categories. |

Under the arrangement, Choice Hotel India would develop the brand and market the hotels, while RIRIC would make the investment. In the first phase, the hotels would be set up in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Goa and Pune. |

Later, properties would come up in tier-II towns like Amritsar, Kochi, Kanpur and Nagpur. |
