Choice Hospitality India(CHI), a 100 per cent subsidiary of US-based hospitality company Choice Hotels International, is planning to add 16 more hotels in the country by 2013.
“The investment for the proposed projects will differ according to the requirement. Negotiations with some of our investors and developers are on and we will soon be finalising the investment,” Vilas Pawar, chief executive officer, CHI, said.
The company has 28 hotels, of which 23 are franchised and five managed hotels. The new ones would be entirely managed by the company, Pawar said.
In India, Choice operates under four international brands — Clarion, Quality, Comfort and Sleep. The new hotels would come up under the comfort and quality brands, and double its room capacity to 4,000.
The combined turnover of the 28 hotels was ' 650-700 crore last year. It is aiming to double its revenue in three years on the completion of the proposed hotels.
In Andhra Pradesh, the company would set up hotels in Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada and a second one in the state capital, he said.
