Industry in Himachal Pradesh wants the state government to give special thrust to the development of infrastructure in the hill state in the coming Budget.
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) submitted its pre-Budget memorandum to the state government in Shimla two days ago.
CII Himachal Pradesh State Council Vice-Chairman Rajiv Malhotra said: “Special attention is required to improve and extend road and rail connectivity for attracting more investments, reducing transportation costs and facilitating inter-state trade.” For tourism sector, CII has recommended destination development, automated parking lots and preparation of long term vision for the state tourism department.
The chamber has also recommended the state to pursue ‘capital investment-subsidy’ with the Central government to encourage more investments after the expiry of the incentive package; and the imparting of an impetus for reforms-based growth in the state.
