Cisco has been ranked number one vendor in India in the Wireless LAN equipment market in revenues in 2009, as per a survey conduct by the IDC.
Cisco has been holding the number one position in India for three consecutive years from 2007and held 19.6 per cent revenue market share in 2009 enabling it to retain its leadership in the WLAN market in India, according to IDC's Asia/Pacific Semiannual Wireless LAN Tracker 09-2010.
The Indian Wireless LAN equipment market has evolved rapidly as a way of differentiation and to meet consumers' needs. From the provisioning of public hotspots to enterprise deployment, the interest to deploy WLAN has been on a continuous rise, a company statement said.
Ahead of the market demand, Cisco not only introduced compelling range of Wireless N products to the Indian market but also established 16 RMA exchange centers over the last 15 months.
Cisco has also grown its channel partner base to 2000, a growth of almost 50 per cent y-o-y and has rapidly extended its channel partner network to Tier II, III and IV locations covering over 200 big and small cities.
