Also signs with Ghana, Uganda to develop fan, ICT, telecom and agri clusters.
Cluster Pulse, a group company of Ahmedabad-based Global Network, an international trade consulting firm, has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with countries like China, Uganda, Ghana and Canada. As per the agreement, Cluster Pulse will assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in these countries to develop fan, ICT, telecom and agricultural clusters, respectively.
Cluster Pulse is also part of the $ 120 million (approx. Rs 515 crore) worth World Bank led multi-agency project of financing and developing SMEs in India. Cluster Pulse is in process of offering business development services (BDS) by developing clusters of engineering and machine tools industry of Rajkot in Gujarat.
Jagat Shah, chief executive officer of Global Network and Cluster Pulse, signed MoUs during the recent Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit. "Representatives from the four countries approached us after observing the company's cluster development work in other countries. SME units in China manufacturing fans have not been able to capitalise on export opportunities much. Under the MoU, we will help them develop market strength for better exports," said Shah.
Similarly, the company will be developing an ICT Park in Uganda. "The Uganda government intends to develop an ICT Park in Lake Victoria. Cluster Pulse would integrate ICT SMEs and user SMEs to develop it as an IT hub. We also help them get outsourcing jobs from the USA and Europe," said Shah.
In case of Ghana, Shah said that there are around 30-35 companies developing telecom related software who are facing tough competition among themselves.

"Cluster Pulse has been roped in by Ghana government to assist these companies in complementing each other. We intend to do so by helping them set up a joint venture company among themselves where Cluster Pulse will hold 10 per cent stake," he added.
Canada, a major producer of green peas, wants to connect to Indian and Chinese markets for which the country has signed an MoU with Cluster Pulse who will develop a consortium with the producers for better networking. For each of the project, Cluster Pulse will be conducting a 15-day field survey . "We expect to earn an overall revenue of Rs 25 crore from these projects," said Shah.
