Tata Group company CMC today said its consolidated net profit surged 19.12 per cent to Rs 25.98 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2008.
The IT company had a net profit of Rs 21.81 crore in the same quarter in 2007, CMC said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
However, the consolidated revenue dipped 23.92 per cent to Rs 216.37 crore for the quarter under review, from Rs 284.38 crore in the year-ago period.
During the quarter, CMC reported a 10.29 per cent growth in its standalone net profit at Rs 23.36 crore, from Rs 21.18 crore a year ago.
The standalone total revenue dipped to Rs 161.71 crore, from Rs 273.41 crore in the December quarter in 2007.
Shares of CMC closed at Rs 291, up 0.67 per cent on the BSE.
