Beverage maker Coca-Cola India today announced roping in Bollywood star Salman Khan for endorsing its Thums Up brand.

Coca-Cola India has entered into an endorsement agreement with the actor--the original thunder star, for Thums Up, the company said in a statement.

Salman Khan had endorsed this brand for a while prior to 2003.

Coca-Cola India has also signed an agreement with Being Human - The Salman Khan Foundation - to jointly promote, conceive and execute charitable and social activities, it said.

The company's partnership with Being Human takes forward the vision of both organisations of ensuring the sustainability of communities and their welfare, it said.

"We are extremely pleased to have Salman Khan as the face of one of the country's largest selling soft drink brand — Thums Up. Salman's appeal cuts across age groups and socio economic strata, just like Thums Up," Coca-Cola India and South West Asia CEO Atul Singh.

On being appointed as the brand ambassador, Khan said, "I look forward to this partnership with Thums Up, a soft drink that I have grown up with. I am also excited at the association between Being Human and Coca-Cola India, where the two organisations will work together on community welfare projects."

As part of endorsement agreement, it said, Khan will be associated with a range of consumer activation and marketing programmes for the brand, helping build brand love and enrich the brand experience.
