Cognizant among BusinessWeek's top 10 hot growth tech firms

Nasdaq-listed Cognizant said it had been named in the top 10 of BusinessWeek's 'Hot Growth Technology Companies', along with Google, Apple, AT&T and Oracle.

The company has also been recognised among the fastest-growing global technology brands.

Cognizant ranked sixth overall and the No. 1 IT services company in the chart. BusinessWeek evaluated companies based on sales and profit growth, total return to shareholders, return on equity and overall sales.

Cognizant's ranking among 'the Tech Top 50' follows its No. 16 position among BusinessWeek's 'Hot Growth 100' in June 2006, the business magazine's annual ranking of the fastest-growing companies across all industries.

Cognizant has earned the 'Hot Growth 100' recognition five times, according to a company statement.
