ArcelorMittal, the largest steel maker in the world, has assured adequate employment to local people and creating thousands of indirect job opportunities at the sites where it is planning plants in India. A statement issued by company spokesman Stefan Schwarz said: "The company has immense experience in setting up projects worldwide coupled with local economic development, and one would see similar developments in the company's two plants which are coming up in India."Even if the projects are not identical, the community-based approach is definitely something we can use as an instrument to ensure that the local population is benefited."
