CORE Education Q4 net down 35.7%

Net sales of the company dropped 7.7% in Q4 vs the same period last year

CORE Education and Technologies posted a 35.7% drop in its consolidated fourth quarter net profit, as compared to Q4 2012. The company posted a net profit of Rs 50.93 crore for Q4 2013, as compared to Rs 79.23 crore posted in the same quarter in 2012.

The education services and training firm saw a 7.7% drop in net sales for the fourth quarter 2013 compared to same quarter previous fiscal and posted net sales of Rs 444.48 crore. The total expenses of the company for the period, also saw a marginal decrease as compared to the previous fiscal and stood at Rs 345.47 crore.

In terms of the different segments, while areas like consulting and learning saw a healthy growth in revenue, others like assessment, teaching and advanced technology saw a dip in revenue. In fact, the assessment segment saw a 41.4% drop in the revenue in the fourth quarter. This segment posted net sales of Rs 99.94 crore in Q4 2012, as compared to Rs 170.75 crore in Q4 2012.
