Asian Paints India has posted a 4 per cent rise in its net profit of Rs 48.8 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2004, compared with a net profit of Rs 46.9 crore recorded in the quarter ended September 30, 2003.
 
The company registered a total income of Rs 543.94 crore, during the quarter, an increase of 8.86 per cent against a total income of Rs 499.63 crore, recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.
 
Goodlass Nerolac net up 56%
 
Goodlass Nerolac has posted a 55.7 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 29.22 crore, for the quarter ended September 30, 2004, compared with a net profit of Rs 18.76 crore, reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
 
Net sales were up 9.5 per cent at Rs 229.54 crore, against net sales of Rs 209.51 crore, recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year.
 
Godrej Consumer Q2 net up 26%
 
Godrej Consumer Products has posted a net profit of Rs 17.43 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2004, compared with a net profit of Rs 13.8 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2003, representing an increase of 26 per cent.
 
The company's total income increased 10.1 per cent at Rs 135.15 crore in the quarter against from Rs 122.7 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
 
Indian Rayon Q2 net dips 54%
 
Indian Rayon & Industries' net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2004, has plunged 54 per cent at Rs 24.6 crore, compared with a net profit of Rs 53.5 crore, recorded for the quarter ended September 30, 2003. Net income from operations increased at Rs 465.08 crore (Rs 426.46 crore).
 
Adesh Gupta, president & CFO, Indian Rayon, said, "Lower VSF and carbon black prices have impacted the bottomline in the last quarter. However, the garments business has witnessed firm growth."
