Course on insurance salesmanship launched

Hyderabad-based Boston Group, an IT solutions and services provider, in association with the College of Insurance and Financial Planning (CIFP) and the International Institute of Insurance and Finance (IIIF), has launched a unique course "� Certificate Course in Life Insurance Salesmanship (CLIS).

CLIS, the first-of-its-kind web-based course on 'life insurance salesmanship', would be offered on www.financialcampusindia.com, a portal dedicated to the financial sector by the Boston Group.

Speaking on the occasion, C S Rao, chairman of the Insurance Regulator and Development Authority (Irda), said: "Apart from teaching the techniques of salesmanship, what is more important today is to enlighten a salesman about the insurance sector, its regulations and practices."

Deepak Kumar, regional manager of Boston Group, said that though the company initially offers the course to institutional subscribers, it would be extended to individuals and freshers shortly.

The fee for the course has not yet been decided, he added. The certificate for the course that can be completed within 4-5 days will be issued jointly by CIFP and IIIF.
