BEL, BHEL units get commendation certificate.
Crompton Greaves Ltd, the power products firm, and food packaging player Tinplate Company of India Ltd have bagged the CII-EXIM Bank 2010 awards for business excellence.
Instituted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Export Import (EXIM) Bank, the awards are given to companies in manufacturing and services sector in recognition of highest quality measured across various parameters by the CII’s Institute of Quality, based in Bangalore.
Bharat Electricals Ltd, Kotdwara, BHEL, Hyderabad, Bosch Ltd, Nashik, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co Ltd, L&T-Komatsu Ltd and JSW Steel Ltd were among the companies that were awarded for significant achievement in maintaining highest quality standards. The awards were distributed here on the inaugural day of the three day National Quality Summit 2010, organised by CII.
In the small and medium business (SMB) segment, four companies - Nicco Parks & Resorts Ltd, Indolox Services Ltd, Moonlight Engineering and Weir Minerals India were given awards for quality in their products and services.
Similarly, 120 private firms, including Anta gas power station of NTPC, Panchkula unit of the state-run Bharat Electronics Ltd, Ranipet, Bangalore and Tiruchirapalli divisions of BHEL and four units of Kirloskar group were given commendation awards for strong commitment to excel.

In the SMB segment, Thinksoft Global Services Ltd and Moolchand Medcity bagged the awards for strong commitment to excel. Security Solutions division of Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co was awarded for People Management and Canon India Ltd for Resource Management.
The CII national award for food safety went to Perfetti VanMelle Ltd, Manesar unit under category three, while Connaught Plaza Restaurants Ltd and McDonald’s Family Restaurant at Ghaziabad were commended for significant achievement under category three. Bangalore-based Heritage Foods & Beverages was also commended for significant achievement under category one.
