Crompton Greaves has registered a 78% surge in net profit after tax at Rs 31.25 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2005 as compared to Rs 17.53 crore in Q1FY05. According to a Crompton Greaves release issued to the BSE, total income (net of excise) has increased to Rs 527.51 crore in Q1FY06 from Rs 428.82 crore in Q1FY05.
