CSL bags Shipping Corp contract

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has signed contracts for two 120-tonne Bollard pull anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels with Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI). The contracts were signed at New Delhi on Wednesday. V Radhakrishnan, director (Technical), CSL, and AK Gupta, director (Technical & Offshore Services), SCI, signed the contracts. 

The 66x16 m vessel powered by 2x4000 KW engines, is equipped with a 300-tonne anchor handling winch, dynamic positioning grade 1, firefighting grade 1, and is capable of all normal offshore supply functions. The vessel can accommodate 29 persons and also meet the requirements of Emergency Rescue & Response Vessel (ERRV) group C, which will enable standby and rescue functions in case of an oil field exigency.

The vessel upon delivery will fly the Indian flag and will be registered at Mumbai. The vessels bearing yard numbers NY 77 and BY 78 will undergo Bollard pull testing at the 500T Bollard pull test facility established at Vizhinjam by CSL in cooperation with Kerala Ports Department, a press statement said.
