Engine maker Cummins India today reported 23.70% jump in net profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 143.87 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
The company had posted a net profit after tax of Rs 116.31 crore in the corresponding period last year, Cummins India said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The total income during the fourth quarter also increased by 32.24% to Rs 1,049.28 crore from Rs 793.48 crore in the year-ago period, it added.
For the entire 2010-11 fiscal, the net profit after tax rose by 33.14% to Rs 590.99 crore from Rs 443.87 crore in the previous fiscal.
The total income in went up by 40.09% in FY11 to Rs 4,061.17 crore from Rs 2,899.03 crore in FY10, the filing said.
The shares of the company today closed 0.21% up at Rs 704.15 apiece on the BSE.
