Cyient Limited acquires Pratt & Whitney subsidiary

Financial details not disclosed; to likely to close by August-end

Cyient Limited today announced the acquisition of Global Services Engineering Asia, based in Singapore, from Pratt & Whitney Services Pte Limited. This site provides repairs, development and validation for aero gas turbine engine components in support of Pratt & Whitney throughout the region.

The two companies came together today to sign the deal, which was structured as an asset purchase and is expected to close at the end of August, 2015. Through this transaction, Cyient continues to build on its growth strategy for the Asia Pacific region, specially in after market services for the aerospace industry.

However, the company did not disclose the financial details of the deal.

We are committed to growing our aerospace after market services in the region and expanding our reach into other industries within Singapore. This marks a significant step forward for Cyient in shaping our vision for the future," Krishna Bodanapu, managing director and CEO, Cyient Limited, said in a statement.

Cyient has built a strong presence over the years in mechanical and manufacturing engineering, as well as software, systems and electronics, in addition to after market services. Cyient Asia Pacific is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia and has 11 sales and delivery locations across the region, according the the company.
